PRIMA: a project to stop healthcare appointment slots going to waste

PRIMA, a Lasagnaware project in development, helps healthcare providers predict no-shows and give every freed slot to someone who is waiting.

1 min read

An empty appointment or examination slot is a lost slot for the provider and a longer wait for those in the queue. That is why PRIMA (Previsione e Recupero Intelligente e Multicanale degli Appuntamenti), our healthcare project, exists.

PRIMA is a Lasagnaware project. It grows out of the technology of Filomena, the AI booking assistant already on the market. It is in development and currently has no healthcare providers as clients.

What it will do

On behalf of the provider, PRIMA predicts which appointments and examinations are at risk of going empty. It then talks to patients by phone, on WhatsApp and by SMS, and collects confirmations, cancellations and reschedulings. Finally, it reassigns freed slots to people on the waiting list.

In short: predict no-shows, talk to people, reassign every slot that becomes free.

How it presents itself to patients

The assistant always introduces itself on behalf of the provider and states that it is an AI. The tone is simple and reassuring. Nobody is made to feel guilty: the slot you free up goes to someone who is waiting.

For healthcare providers

There is a single guiding idea: every slot in the diary, to the right patient, at the right time.

Providers who would like to know more can write to info@lasagnaware.it.
